In the shade of larch
It is a tame area, dotted with hills, forests and meadows. Holiday house Pine Hill House is located not far from Klenovnik. At the end of several centuries, it was ruled by the Drašković counts, who built the largest and most luxurious Renaissance castle in Croatia. The castle with the chapel is a cultural monument, and since the beginning of the last century it has housed a special hospital.
The Drašković family owned large areas of forests, fields and vineyards, and as good stewards they developed agricultural production.
Today, the descendants of their vineyard guardians, gamekeepers, foresters, and their farmers live there. That’s how the Pine Hill House was built on land that was given as a gift to the vincilier of the counts Drašković, the great-grandfather of the current owner. Tradition says that in that place there was a wooden house called “huta”, where miners used to spend the night when they returned from the mine to their homes.
Imagine that you have birds, that the whole forest is at your disposal, because the house is located on the very edge of the larch forest.
